This course will contribute to the training of nurses to manage the ever-growing patient numbers and meet the demands of care for them while striving to improve their practice and deliver at international standards of Critical Care Nursing.
This course describes the concepts of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the various ICU related units and the nature of critical care nursing. The basic and critical competencies required in critical nursing management are covered.

| Pre-requisites and co-requisites | Applicants should have successfully completed a 3-year recognised nursing qualification that permits them to work in their country.
Applications will be encouraged from non-standard entrants with relevant experiential learning and evidence of continuing professional development.
Candidates must possess basic knowledge in IT including; MS office packages (MS Word and MS PowerPoint), internet and email.
All candidates must be available to allocate the required study time over a consecutive period of 32 weeks (8 months) from the date of course commencement. This includes online interactive lessons and as well as self-study.
